Big win for Australia as they beat South Africa by 65 runs to kick off their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.

Also out of action against Bangladesh was all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner, who sustained an acute ankle inversion injury (sprain).

The duo has been crucial to Australia’s T20I setup. The six-time winners slotted in Grace Harris and Megan Schutt in the side for the fixture at Headingley.

Having won the toss and electing to field first, Australia restricted Bangladesh to 77/8 in their 20 overs.
