A strong showing for the West Indies in their opening match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup has helped experienced captain Hayley Matthews overtake New Zealand counterpart Melie Kerr and regain her place at the top of the ICC Women's T20I All-Rounder Rankings.

Matthews contributed an excellent innings of 48 and picked up the valuable wicket of former New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine as the Caribbean side commenced their T20 World Cup campaign with an impressive seven-wicket triumph over the White Ferns and it proved enough to see the West Indies captain move back to the premier position for T20I all-rounders.

It's been tight going at the top between Matthews and Kerr in recent times, with the New Zealand skipper going wicketless and scoring just five in that opening contest at the T20 World Cup to hand the advantage back to the West Indies all-rounder.

Deepti Sharma is also on the move, with the India star gaining two places to move to third on the list for T20I all-rounders following her magnificent five-wicket haul against Pakistan at Edgbaston.

There's also a move for Kathryn Bryce, with the Scotland captain improving back inside the top 10 at 10th for T20I all-rounders after she gained seven places on the back of her Aramco Player of the Match effort against Ireland in Manchester.

Perhaps the most intriguing rankings category is for T20I bowlers, with just 20 rating points separating the top eight players that remains headed by England spinner Linsey Smith.

England kickstart their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign with a massive 87-run victory over Sri Lanka.

Smith's nearest challenger is India spinner Shree Charani just five rating points adrift after she rose five spots to move to second with a new career-high rating, while Deepti also gains five places in this category to jump up to fifth.

Outside the top 10 there are gains for New Zealand pacer Jess Kerr (up six rungs to 16th), Scotland's Katherine Fraser (up six places to 28th) and Bryce (up 15 slots to equal 42nd) as player jostle for positions at the ongoing T20 World Cup.

There is little change inside the top 10 on the rankings for T20I batters, with South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt gaining one place to overtake Australia's Beth Mooney and jump to second following her innings of 44 against the Aussies in Manchester.

Australia's Georgia Voll remains at the top of the T20I batter rankings, with teammate Phoebe Litchfield reaching a new career-best rating and jumping four spots to 10th following her superb half-century against the Proteas.

There's also a new career-best mark for England veteran Danni Wyatt-Hodge, with the right-hander gaining six spots to move to 14th on the list for T20I batter after her magnificent century against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener in Birmingham.
