Denmark-PNG game abandoned

Denmark finally picks up its first point

Denmark-PNG game abandoned - Cricket News
Game between Denmark and Papua New Guinea abandoned due to rain.
The ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier Group B encounter between Denmark and Papua New Guinea was abandoned without a ball being bowled at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday (November 22).
Denmark came into the match having lost to Afghanistan by two wickets on Thursday, and Friday’s washout means it is the only team in the competition not to have won a game yet. By virtue of the abandoned game, Denmark finally has a point against its name but continues to remain at the bottom of the table.
PNG, which suffered a heavy loss against Scotland in its previous game, is fifth in Group B with 5 points, having won only two of its six matches to date. With one point from this washout, it has edged past both Scotland and Bermuda, who both are on 4 points, with two games to play.
Denmark next faces Scotland on November 24 in Dubai, while Papua New Guinea takes on Bermuda on the same day.
