One of the fastest bowlers women's cricket has ever seen, Cathryn Fitzpatrick had a glorious international career for Australia. In Tests, she claimed 60 wickets at an average of 19.11, with an economy of 1.91, while in ODIs, she took 180 wickets at an average of 16.79 and an economy of 3.01.

A true exponent of fearsome pace bowling, Australia’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick was hailed as the fastest bowler in women's cricket through the 1990s and 2000s. Born in Melbourne, Fitzpatrick made her international debut as a 22-year old in the 1991 Adelaide Test against India, playing the same opponent, at the same venue, in her final Test 15 years later. In June 2005, she became the first female bowler to reach 150 ODI wickets, and remains the second most successful ODI bowler. She also took 60 Test wickets. Fitzpatrick was a part of two Australian World Cup-winning campaigns in 1997 and 2005, taking 12 wickets at 8.83 in 1997. She was named 2004’s International Woman Cricketer of the Year at the Allan Border awards.
