Born on June 8, 1945 in Bromley, Kent, Derek Underwood made his Test debut against West Indies in 1966 and represented England in 86 Test matches. His 297 Test wickets came at an average of 25.83. He took his career-best figures of 13/71 in the drawn second Test during Pakistan’s tour of England in 1974, at Lord’s. In 26 ODIs, Underwood claimed 32 victims at an average of 22.93 and a miserly economy rate of 3.44.
