One half of one of the greatest opening partnerships in cricket, Gordon Greenidge, alongside Desmond Haynes, flayed bowling attacks in both Tests and ODIs, racking up 30 international centuries and two ICC Cricket World Cup winners' medals.

Player Bio

Gordon Greenidge was a prolific opening batsman for West Indies through the 1970s and 1980s. He began his Test career against India at Bangalore in 1974. He and Desmond Haynes remain one of the most prolific West Indies opening pairs of all-time. The pair made 6482 runs while batting together in partnerships, the third highest total for a batting partnership in Test cricket history.

Greenidge went on to play 108 Test matches scoring 7,558 runs with 19 centuries. He also played 128 One Day Internationals, including the 1975, 1979 and 1983 World Cups, scoring 5,134 runs and 11 centuries.
