Linsey Smith has been added to England Women’s squad for their upcoming T20I series against West Indies. The rested Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver also return.
Smith is the only new face from the squad that won the recently concluded ODI series 3-0 against the same opponents. Her namesake Bryony Smith is the player to drop out of the 15.
England’s 3-0 win in the ODI series means they have won 13 all-format matches in a row, a run their skipper Heather Knight is keen to continue.
“It’s great to set records and break new ground. A winning run requires a lot of hard work and ruthlessness – it won’t continue if we become complacent or begin to let our standards slip,” said Knight.
Squad: Heather Knight (captain), Tammy Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Jenny Gunn, Amy Jones, Laura Marsh, Nat Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Linsey Smith, Sarah Taylor (wk), Fran Wilson, Lauren Winfield, Danni Wyatt.
