Skipper Heather Knight and opener Amy Jones led England's charge with the bat, before Sarah Glenn and Anya Shrubsole bagged two wickets each to complete a comfortable 26-run win over Pakistan in the third T20I in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, 20 December.
Danielle Wyatt scored a breezy 15-ball 25 before falling to Diana Baig in the fourth over after England won the toss and opted to bat. Knight then joined Jones for an 81-run stand for the second wicket to put England in firm control. Jones hit five boundaries before falling to Omaima Sohail for 37 in the 14th over. Knight (43) was accounted by Baig in the next, after smashing three hits to the fence and as many over it during her 31-ball stay.
With the platform laid, Fran Wilson and Tammy Beaumont put on unbeaten 52 in final 5.4 overs to propel England to a first innings score of 170/3.
Pakistan lost both their openers Nahida Khan and Ayesha Zafar by the fifth over with just 29 runs on the board. Javeria Khan continued her fine run from the ODIs, finishing unbeaten on 57, but got little support from the other end as no other batter managed to cross 20. Skipper Bismah Maroof fell to Sarah Glenn for 17, while Omaima Sohail was undone by the left-arm spin of Sophie Ecclestone.
Anya Shrubsole and Glenn bagged two wickets apiece for England. Knight was adjudged Player of the Match while Jones, who scored 179 runs in the series at an average of 59.66 and strike-rate of 142.06, was named as the Player of the series.
