A host of South Africa's biggest stars have been rewarded for strong performances in their ongoing tour of Pakistan on the latest update of the MRF Tyres ICC Women's Player Rankings.
While the Proteas fell to a 3-0 series loss during the T20I component of the tour, new captain Laura Wolvaardt stood out by scoring 157 runs at an average of 52.33 to earn the Player of the Series award.
It also helped the consistent right-hander jump two places to fourth and a new career-high rating on the list for T20I batters, while a group of her teammates picked up similar marks following excellent efforts during the opening two ODIs of the 50-over series.
Experienced all-rounder Marizanne Kapp improves three places to 11th and a new career-best rating on the list for ODI batters, while teammate Lara Goodall jumps five places to equal 37th on the same rankings.
Former skipper Sune Luus makes good ground (up four places to 24th on the list for ODI batters) on the back of her 117 runs from the first two matches of the ODI series, while pacer Nadine de Klerk improves 10 spots to equal 38th following her seven wickets from two appearances.
Pakistan's group of rising stars did not go completely unnoticed for their efforts against the Proteas during the T20I series, with Sadia Iqbal moving up three places to ninth and a career-best rating on the T20I bowler rankings and fellow left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu (up six spots to 13th on the same list) the biggest beneficiaries for an impressive series sweep.
