Black Stuff are Luxembourg League Champions

The LCF/CrossComm League has been running for 8 years and though up to 7 teams have been regularly competing, it has only ever been 1 of the same 3 teams that have been league champions.

This year however a new name appears on the trophy. This year's LCF/CrossComm champions are Black Stuff Cricket Club, your archetypal pub side, named after their habitual watering hole and major (indeed, only!) sponsor. Despite a chaotic season where it was necessary to rearrange many matches, often at short notice, and a number of forfeitures (due to nothing more sinister than not being able to raise a full team), Black Stuff emerged on top, winning 4 of their 6 matches. Star CC were second and Communities CC third.

Black Stuff captain Peter Winchester commented that his team's success was the reflection of the commitment shown by a core of talented, regular players who really enjoy their cricket without taking it too seriously. Also, this season, for the first time, the team organised a two-match weekend tour to East Sussex, something which definitely drew the team together more as a cohesive unit.
