Canada's losing streak in Barbados continues
Canada lost its third successive T20 match on their tour of Barbados at the weekend.
The tourists could only muster 100-9 from 20 overs against a strong opposition line-up.
Barbados fielded six players to have represented West Indies in at least one form of international cricket - Dwayne Smith, Dale Richards, Carlos Braithwaite, Ashley Nurse, Suleiman Benn and Tino Best - and it was the last three of those players who did most of the damage with the ball.
Fast bowler Best removed both openers, in a lethal spell of 2-3 in three overs, before slow bowlers Nurse (3-16) and Benn (2-18) took over.
Alcindor Holder (2-2) also struck twice in his solitary over.
Canada's middle order did at least rescue their side from 15-4 to reach triple figures with captain Jimmy Hansra (31 off 27 balls including one four and two sixes) and Hamza Tariq (22 off 14 balls) the main contributors.
A run-chase of 101 proved of no concern to the hosts as they got to their target with 37 balls to spare.
Captain Smith (48 not out 29 balls) and Kevin Stoute (43 off 46 balls) did most of the damage in a first-wicket stand of 91 off 11.5 overs.
Experienced T20 campaigner Smith was in particularly explosive form as he struck three fours and three sixes.
Junaid Siddiqui (1-29) was the solitary Canadian wicket-taker when he took a return catch off Stoute in the closing stages.
Tyrone Roberts was the most economical bowler with 20 runs conceded from three overs.
The Canadian national team are in Barbados for a 10-day period of training and matches ahead of the Caribbean T20 tournament in January.
