CSA meets S&R Portfolio Committee
Cricket South Africa (CSA), represented by its Acting CEO Jacques Faul and Board member Chris Nenzani, made a presentation in Parliament on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, to the Sport and Recreation (S&R) Portfolio Committee.
"I was very heartened by the reception we received from the Portfolio Committee in what was a very constructive meeting with positive outcomes for all concerned," commented Mr. Faul. "The questions we were asked were probing and direct but fair and I believe we have established a good working relationship with this important stakeholder on the road ahead.
"There is still much work that needs to be done, particularly in the important areas of transformation and development.
"I would also like to express my appreciation to Mr. Nenzani for his major input to our presentation."
In a separate matter CSA have been informed by their legal team that Mr. Johan Myburgh, the Independent Chairperson of the Disciplinary Hearing involving incumbent CEO Gerald Majola, has stood down from further involvement. The legal team has thus approached the Johannesburg Bar Council once again for the appointment of a new Independent Chairperson as a matter of urgency.
In making the new appointment the legal team has asked that consideration be given to the immediate availability of that person so that this matter can be brought to resolution as rapidly as is practical.
