ICC World Cup 2019: These Afghanistan players are good picks in your ICC Dream 11 season fantasy team
The Classic mode of fantasy cricket, the season-long thrill, asks you to pick players from teams playing in a particular round. The last team probably on your mind is Afghanistan. But before you rule out picking anyone at all from the Blue Tigers, check these champion players out and the advantage they give.
Mohammad Nabi (9 credits):
A fantastic all-rounder with good temperament and an ability to contribute across disciplines, Nabi has experience in plenty and is a fearless cricketer. Apart from being a handy off-break bowler, as he has proved T20 leagues across the globe, the 34-year old can also chip in with important runs. Batting isn't Afghanistan's forte which means Nabi might get more time in the middle, despite playing in the middle-order. He geared himself up with a crucial knock against Pakistan in the warm-up game after he had picked up three wickets in his spell. If you don't want to spend 9.5 on Rashid, Nabi at 9 credits gives you an extra 0.5 credit saving.
Rashid Khan (9.5 credits):
WATCH: Rashid Khan's five-wicket haul
The unassailable superstar of Afghanistan cricket, Rashid Khan has the best strike rate in ODI cricket since the last World Cup for any bowler, with minimum 75 wickets. With 125 scalps, he is the second-highest wicket taker in the format in the period between the two World Cups. His strike rate, defining an ability to pick up wickets frequently, makes him an invaluable fantasy pick. Batting friendly conditions and quality of the opposition doesn't stop Rashid from making an impact against the best of batsmen. At 9.5 credits he doesn't come cheap but even if Afghanistan don't thrive, expect Rashid to.
Rahmat Shah (8.5 credits):

If you think Afghanistan is all about bowling, Rahmat Shah will make you think otherwise. He is the only Afghanistan player with more than 1000 runs in ODIs since the beginning of 2018 and is equally capable against pace and spin. He has even proved his mettle against big opponents and in this World Cup, he could be an underrated star waiting in the wings. In 53 ODIs, Rahmat Shah has 1902 runs at an average of 38.81. Having scored a match winning century against Scotland and a fifty in the series decider against Ireland in the lead-up to the World Cup, Rahmat's from promises a lot of points in the fantasy league.
