KNCB announce new sponsor ASICS
The Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) has announced ASICS as its new partner footwear for men, women and youth cricket. The footwear will be worn during a number of major tournaments for men (ICC World Cup in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) and women (ICC Women's Cricket Challenge in South Africa later this year).
KNCB Chief Executive Richard Cox was extremeley pleased with the agreement he said: "I am delighted that we have been able to secure ASICS as the first of a number of commercial partners to aid and support our National teams at the Senior Level. The demands of high level sport these days mean that bowlers in particular need to have the best possible boots to support the demands of matchplay and the practice and preparation programmes.
"We look forward to working with ASICS over the coming months to roll the ASICS brand out to our junior teams and also to the KNCB Cricket Clubs and our domestic players for the 2011 season."
James Hawkins, Sales Manager at ASICS is very keen to begin working with the Netherlands: "ASICS brand philosophy is founded on the belief that movement leads to the development of a healthier body - and that a sound body is the cradle for a sound mind. In that way We are keen to work with the Netherlands team to develop their players and in particular that they participate in the forthcoming ICC Programmes knowing that their footwear is of the highest calibre to maintain peak performance."
