Sitanshu Kotak, Paras Mhambrey take over from Rahul Dravid
With Rahul Dravid, who guided the team to the ICC U19 World Cup 2018 title, elevated to the head the National Cricket Academy, Kotak and Mhambrey have been give charge of the junior sides.
Kotak, a left-hand batsman who averaged 41.76 in 130 first-class matches while taking 70 wickets, was in charge of the Saurashtra side in the domestic set-up. He will also oversee batting in the A side, with Ramesh Powar, the former India off-spinner and women's team coach during their ICC T20 World Cup 2018 run, helping him as the bowling coach and T Dilip as the fielding coach.

Mhambrey, who played two Tests for India, was a medium-pacer who took 284 wickets in 91 first-class games. A part of Dravid's staff, he has earned a promotion. He will be assisted by Hrishikesh Kanitkar, the former India batsman, and Abhay Sharma, a wicket-keeper in his playing days, who was also a part of Dravid's team.
The India A side's next set of matches are against the visiting South Africa A, with one-day and four-day games scheduled. India U19's next big tournament is the Asia Cup in the first two weeks of September.
The appointments come even as there is a re-jig in the backroom staff in the senior side. While Ravi Shastri was retained as head coach, Vikram Rathour is set to replace Sanjay Bangar as batting coach. With the selection committee recommending three names each for the support staff roles, those, including Bangar, who didn't make the final cut are likely to be accommodated in the support staff for the junior sides and the NCA.
