Vanuatu Cricket Reach Epi Island
The first visit to Epi Island this year from Vanuatu Cricket Association's Development Officers, Neil Malosu and Lenika Natapei saw cricket being introduced in Vermaul areas comprising of schools; Bonkovio Primay School, Burumba Primary School, Burumba College and Mabfilau Primary School.
In the recent tour to Vermaul area of Epi Island an inter school cricket tournament was organized by the VERMAUL Sports Association attended by VCA Community Cricket Development Manager, Andrew Mansale and Development Officer Patrick Mataautava.
Leo Mermer, chairman of Vermaul Sports Association in his official speech expressed the association's gratitude to the VCA for extending the cricket outreach program to Vermaul areas in Epi Island. We would like to see Epi Island as part of VCA's Outreach Program as we see talent in our young cricketers, Mermer said.
Host of Vermaul Inter School Cricket Tournament, Burumba School principal, Walter in his closing remarks emphasized the importance of the development of cricket in the country. We encourage young and old to be involve in sports as this will reduce the number of social issues we are facing today.
