White Ferns record comfortable win over Ireland
An all-round performance helped New Zealand Women (White Ferns) record a comfortable 159-run victory over Ireland in the only ODI played between the sides at Kibworth Cricket Club in Leicestershire on Sunday.
Batting first, New Zealand Women scored 296-8 off 50 overs with half centuries from Liz Perry (70) and Maria Fahey (59). It then restricted its opposition to just 137 all out with top-quality spin bowling from Lucy Doolan (3-7) and Aimee Watkins (3-16).
Ireland will next play England in an ODI at the same venue on Wednesday before the start of the five-match England-New Zealand ODI series beginning from 10 July.
