Scotland head coach, Craig Wallace, discussed the difficulty in selecting a squad from a large pool of talented players.
“It was hugely difficult to select a fifteen, but that’s a testament to the growth and success of the women's game in Scotland over the last few years.
"The depth we have now to choose from is incredible and every selection is enjoyable, but really tough. I think we’ve got a really good balance in the squad in terms of what we think we need to succeed in this tournament,” Wallace said.
Scotland are also boosted by the return of Kirstie Gordon, who has featured for England in the past.
"We have multiple world-class players in this team, and Kirstie [Gordon] is definitely one of them," Wallace said.
"We welcome her involvement in the group and expect her to drive our standards up even more and help us to improve Scottish cricket. I’m looking forward to working with her and helping her enhance her own skills as well."

The squad also features three stars from the ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025: namely bowler Gabriella Fontenla, wicketkeeper-batter Pippa Sproul and uncapped pace bowler Maisie Maceira.
Scotland made their way into the upcoming tournament in England and Wales via the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifer, where they made it into the Super Six after finishing second in Group B behind fellow European side, the Netherlands.

Despite losing to Bangladesh, Scotland managed to secure key wins over Ireland and USA in the Super Six, and finished at the third place in the Global Qualifier, thus securing their place for the Women’s T20 World Cup.
In preparations for the T20 World Cup, Scotland will engage in a tri-series contest featuring Bangladesh and Netherlands in Edinburgh. These are the first home fixtures for the side since 2022. A wider group of players will be available for the tri-series, including Niamh Robertson-Jack and Ellen Watson.
