Women’s Cricket Week unites women and girls worldwide

Featuring over 13,000 women and girls worldwide, the week coinciding with the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup marked a historic celebration of the game.

In a global celebration of the women’s game, the ICC Women’s Cricket Week engaged more than 13,000 women and girls across the globe. 

Highlighting the growing reach and impact of women’s cricket, 55 ICC Members delivered activities and shared content during a week-long initiative between 21 to 28 June.

This marked an increase of 44 Members from the Women’s Cricket Week in 2025, this year’s celebrations coinciding with a historic ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales.

With Members spanning from the globe from Nigeria to Norway and Peru to the Philippines, more than a 100 videos were created and posted across the Women’s Cricket Week, amassing 3.2 million views.

While 35 Members were featured live on the ICC live TV/world feed broadcast of the Women’s T20 World Cup, the ICC’s #T20CreatorClub also played a significant role in amplifying the incredible celebrations and stories from around the world.

The celebrations featuring several ICC Associate Members included a particular emphasis on community watch parties, bringing supporters together and raising awareness of women’s cricket, as well as participation initiatives including festivals and competitions delivered through the ICC’s criiio programme.

"The ICC Women's Cricket Week serves as a driver of global significance for our marquee events and an aperture for growth in participation and fandom across markets beyond the host and participant nations,” ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said.

"The second edition of the week during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup witnessed the participation of 50+ nations from every region of the world, and engaged more than 13,000 women and girls.

The ICC Women’s Cricket Week was sanctioned by the ICC Women’s Cricket Committee and Chief Executives' Committee back in April 2025, and is part of the ICC 100% Cricket Programme, a campaign designed for the growth of the women’s game and to support women in cricket.
