The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 has opened applications for its Volunteer Program, with the aim of recruiting a team of 1200 passionate and dedicated volunteers for a wide range of roles.
Volunteers have the opportunity to be part of two major standalone events across Australia:
- ICC Women’s T20 World Cup: 21 February – 8 March 2020
Host Cities: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
- ICC Men’s T20 World Cup: 18 October – 15 November 2020
Host Cities: Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
Both finals will be played at the biggest cricket stadium in the world, the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The women’s final, to be played on 8 March 2020, International Women’s Day, presents an opportunity to set a new world record for attendance at a women’s sporting fixture.
Volunteer Program roles on offer include client and customer service, media and broadcast, drivers, operational support and hospitality.
ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee CEO Nick Hockley said: "Volunteers will be absolutely crucial to delivering a spectacular celebration in 2020. We’ve seen from previous major sporting events all around the world that the volunteers are the smiling and welcoming face of the events.
"This is an amazing opportunity to be part of not one, but two World Cups. We’re looking to build a team with the passion and energy that can come together and deliver the most incredible events in 2020, events that will make Australia proud, and give a really warm welcome to all the fans who will be visiting from all over the world."
Applications will close on 15 July 2019, and can be submitted at t20-world-cup/volunteers
