Bangladesh have confirmed their squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.
Nigar Sultana Joty captains the 15-strong squad, which includes a number of players competing at the U19 T20 World Cup currently being held in South Africa.
Shorna Akter, Marufa Akter and Disha Biswas will all remain in the country to link up with the senior squad upon the conclusion of the U19 tournament.
The remaining players will depart for South Africa on January 23, with their first game in the tournament scheduled for February 12 against Sri Lanka.
The Tigresses are due to play two practice matches against Ireland during a practice camp near Cape Town.
And they also have two official warm-up matches scheduled – against Pakistan in Cape Town on February 6, and versus India in Stellenbosch on February 8.
Bangladesh’s U19 Women stunned Australia in their opening match of the ICC U19 T20 World Cup in South Africa to give a huge boost to their chances of progressing through to the latter stages of the tournament, helping strengthen the claims of a number of the players for selection in the senior squad.
