All-rounder Danushka Gunathilaka has been ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup tournament with a lower back injury.
The left-hander, who averages just over 30 with the bat from 33 ODIs, had travelled with the rest of the Sri Lankan squad to the UAE, will return home to receive further treatment.
His replacement, Shehan Jayasuriya, is a like-for-like swap, also being an off-spinning all-rounder. He has played only eight ODIs, and is yet to make an international half-century.
The Asia Cup begins on Saturday 15 September, when Sri Lanka take on Bangladesh.
