Australia have confirmed an unchanged 15-man squad for the remaining three Test matches of their Ashes campaign.
Justin Langer’s team were chasing victory at Adelaide Oval when they announced their squad for the last three Tests.
In a major boon for the hosts, captain Pat Cummins and fellow fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will both rejoin the squad in Melbourne ahead of the Boxing Day Test.
Cummins was a late scratching from the Adelaide Test due to local Covid-19 protocols after finding himself as a close contact of a member of the public who tested positive for the virus. Hazlewood missed the second Test with a side strain.
Fast bowler Scott Boland has also been added to the squad and has been training with the team in Adelaide. He joins the squad while the medical team assesses the fast bowling group following the second Test victory.
The team will travel to Melbourne on Thursday.
