India have called up opener Mayank Agarwal to the Test squad for the clash against England following captain Rohit Sharma testing positive for Covid-19.
Agarwal has left for the UK, and will link up with the team in Birmingham. Rohit tested positive during India's warm-up game against Leicestershire, and missed the second innings. The Indian team management is still hopeful that the skipper will recover in time for the rescheduled Test.
Agarwal has so far played 21 Tests for India, scoring 1488 runs at 41.33, with four centuries.
India currently lead the five-match series 2-1. The match will be vital for India's hopes of securing their first Test series win in England since 2007.
There are also crucial ICC World Test Championship points at stake, with India in pursuit of a top-two spot.
The fifth match will be played between July 1-5 in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
