Australia star and No.1 ranked all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner has capped off a superb year by claiming the Women's Player of the Month award for December 2022.
Gardner beat out England youngster Charlie Dean and New Zealand opener Suzie Bates for the coveted monthly award on the back of her superb individual series against India last month.
The 25-year-old picked up the equal most wickets during the five-match series against India with seven scalps, while also amassing 115 runs at an average greater than 50.
It was no surprise that Gardner was named Player of the Series for her exploits in India and she made it a double celebration by collecting the monthly ICC award as a result.
It caps off a tremendous 12 months for Gardner, as the talented all-rounder played a starring role in helping Australia to victory at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand and then the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Gardner also rose the heights of the Women's All-rounder rankings to overtake West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews and become the No.1 ranked player in the world in that category towards the end of the year.
