Uncapped duo Dayalan Hemalatha and Arundhati Reddy have been called up to the India Women for the upcoming One-Day International and Twenty20 International tour of Sri Lanka.
Hemalatha, an off-spinning all-rounder, had impressed with bat and ball in the domestic women's T20 competition final recently, and has been included in both ODI and T20I squads. Reddy has been selected for the T20I squad only.
As a right-arm seamer, she will have big shoes to fill, with Jhulan Goswami having announced her retirement from T20Is earlier on Thursday, 23 August. Goswami will continue to lead the pace bowling attack in the 50-over format while Shikha Pandey will now take over as the pace-bowling spearhead in the shortest format.
Taniya Bhatia has been named wicket-keeper in both formats, with Sushma Verma getting axed.
Meanwhile, Pooja Vastrakar, the fast-bowling all-rounder, remained out with injury, while Mansi Joshi returned after a lengthy injury layoff.
The teams will do battle for points in the ICC Women's Championship table in the three ODIs, starting 11th September. They will then play five T20I between 19th and 25th September.
