The ICC’s investment into High Performance took another step forward as eleven leaders from eight Member countries engaged in a revolutionary programme to take performance to new levels.
Representatives from Hong Kong, Ireland, Netherlands, Papau New Guinea, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates and the USA embarked on a five-day workshop which included a best practice sharing session with the Academy at Chelsea Football Club.
The full day workshop focused on player development and technology use across football, with the main aim to focus on what cricket can learn from football in a high performance environment.
“A lot of what they do is around systems, culture and behaviour; there is a lot we can learn from them and think about how we can get better,” said Richard Holdsworth, Cricket Ireland’s Performance Director.
The Leaders Sports Performance Summit and the High Performance Forum completed the rest of the agenda, which focused on the 2018 plans for the high performing Associate Members and new Full Members, Afghanistan and Ireland.
This outstanding annual opportunity gives Members the opportunity to collaborate and think differently in the way they look at high performance and use the expertise of suppliers the ICC can bring together and provide a high-level support in this area.
